The Hybrid Club Consumer Attitudes & Usage studies was first conducted in the
Summer of 2006.
2006 Results Highlights
- Over 1,800 serious golfers were surveyed with 89% male and 11% females
- 98% of those who participated in the survey are aware of "hybrid" golf clubs, compared to 83% in 2004
- 82% of those who are aware of hybrid clubs have tried them in the past, an increase of 26% since 2004. And of those who have tired 81% purchased an individual hybrid club
- Among the 18% of aware respondents who have not tried a hybrid club, 85%
indicated an interest
in trying one - 85% of those who use hybrid clubs said that they replaced another club in their bag with the hybrid, with the most replaced club being the 3 iron
- Among the 2006 respondents who were aware of hybrids, 74% felt they are frequently used by players of all skill levels, a significant increase from 2004 when only 50% felt that way.
